Rapp Bomek AS enters into its largest contract ever when they sign an agreement with Statsbygg for delivery of doors and gates to the new National Museum

December 2017: Rapp Bomek, a market leader in fire and safety doors for the oil and gas industry, once again shows itself competitive in its new market initiatives towards building and construction, and enters into a contract with Statsbygg for the development, delivery and installation of doors and gates for the new National Museum. The contract has a total value of appr MNOK 123 and is the largest single contract ever for Rapp Bomek. Being awarded all 9 subcontracts confirms the company’s broad and competitive product range of safety solutions for the building and construction market, and that diversification to complementary markets have been the right move for the company. Previously, the company has in addition won a MNOK 27 contract to deliver larger security gates to the new National Museum.

The new National Museum becomes the largest art museum in the Nordic region and one of the few buildings that are described as a "FutureBuilt" project. Being part of a FutureBuilt partnership requires that the new National Museum is a future-oriented building with environmentally friendly solutions that are durable over time. The building will mark the new National Museum as an art and cultural provider of international format and will be Norway's largest cultural building. The new National Museum is planned to open for the public by 2020. The majority of Rapp Bomek’s deliveries will take place in 2018.

- We are proud to be awarded all 9 subcontracts for the National Museum by Statsbygg. This gives us an important confirmation that the restructuring efforts initiated in 2016 now give us the desired results, says CEO Terje Bøe.

- Rapp Bomek has gone from being a product supplier to the oil and gas industry to provide comprehensive security solutions for a number of markets, including public buildings with high security and safety demands, defence, infrastructure and other security markets. The organisation has worked hard and focused on establishing a strong position in the new markets, as well as serving its traditional oil and gas markets. We are rewarded with the largest single contract in Rapp Bomek’s history, and it is very satisfactory after a demanding period in the oil and gas segment, says Terje Bøe.

- For us as active owners, it is rewarding to see that the company and its management have managed to take Rapp Bomek from being a product supplier in the oil industry to be able to also take on a position as a safety solution provider in completely different markets. In many ways, I think Rapp Bomek is a striking example of how technology developed for demanding offshore operations can be adapted to meet the high and demanding security requirements we encounter in parts of the building and construction sector, tunnel projects, defence and security of public spaces, says chairman in Rapp Bomek and managing partner in Nord Kapitalforvaltning, Bjørn Hesthamar.
