Bomek doubles production capacity

Bomek doubles production capacity

On Saturday 6 September 2014 Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Monica Mæland opened a new modern factory for Nord II’s portfolio company Bomek Group in Bodø. The factory is an important element in Nord’s value creation plan for Bomek aiming at aggressively pursuing international growth.

Bomek Group is the global leader in the market for high-end fire proof doors to the oil & gas industry, offshore and onshore. From its Bodø headquarter the group has built a stronghold in markets from Brazil in the West to South Korea in the East. The official opening of the new facility in Bodø represents an important milestone and enables further strengthening of this position. As a result of the new hyper modern factory, production capacity in the company will double with a further potential through using more shifts and increasing utilization of the factory.

Nord II, a fund advised by Nord Kapitalforvaltning, acquired Rapp Marine Group in December 2012 with the plan to separately develop its two main business areas Firedoors (Bomek) and winches and deck machinery (Rapp Marine). For both business areas value creation plans involving significant investments in production facilities, market initiatives and system values are under implementation.

Bomek Group’s new factory manifests its unique position as a global market leader in its segment within the arguably toughest industry in the world, based in Northern Norway. For further details refer to the company’s press release.
